Biography : Snapper

Snapper was formed in early 1987. Peter Gutteridge and Alan Haig started recording songs using a Fostex four track cassette recorder late in 1986. We called ourselves THE PHROMES. We changed our name to SNAPPER when Dominic Stones (later 3D's) and Christine Voice added there talent. This is what Snapper are! and more importantly, who!

Christine Voice: Farfisa organ, D6 Clavinett, guitar, vocals. (The Elevators The Delawares)

Dominic Stones: Guitar. (The Birdnest Roys and The 3D's)

Alan Haig : Drums & percussion. ( The Chills, The Verlaines, David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights)

Peter Gutteridge: Guitar, Farfisa organ, D6 Clavinett, vocals and song writer. (The Clean, The Great Unwashed, The Puddle)

We could have described our music at the time, as halfway between a sheetmetal factory and a sauna! Electric full on hypnotic rock 'n' roll, with a quite side aswell. It was music to have a good time too with the added bonus of cleaning out your mind for a while!

We had definate aims, mainly to release a sizeable amount of songs and to have alot of fun!

We had all played music in various forms, which made Snapper one of the most exciting bands to be with, and sooner or later SNAPPER music was going to be permeating the airwaves, reading your deepest held notion of 'pure sound'.

So far so good!
