1. YOU GOT THE BUCKS
She was standing on the corner in her stockings, in her high heel shoes,
I said "Hello Baby" She said who d' you think you're talking to,
Now you got money in your pocket since you're running round in the street,
But you're a young and handsome and you know I think you're kind of sweet
So I said Mama Mama won't you to tell me how to get next to you ?
She said, you've got the bucks, I've got the blues...
I woke up the other morning and got a phone call from my friend,
He said it's downtown Willy, I said tell me Willy what's the thing,
He said I got something special here, you'd really really ought to try,
But the supply is gone when you next know the demand is really high,
So I said Willy Willy won't you tell me what you want me to do ?
He said, you've got the bucks, I've got the blues...
I'll put a band together just to try to satisfy my soul,
I'm gonna play a little bebop and some boogie and some Rock'n'Roll,
I'll put a tape together just to try to catch the heart-j
I told him no joke clown, I got some music that you just got to hear,
He said play it for me son, you know I'm always looking out for something new,
Yeah, I got the bucks, if you got the blues.
2. RED, WHITE AND BLUES
Hi, welcome to America! Glad you made it.
On the left you’ll notice a coin slot.
Insert dollars only please.
Got no bread for the rent,
I got my next two paychecks spent
And my debts are rising faster than a rocket
Money comes, doesn’t stay, now they say I’ve got to pay
And the man’s got his hands in yo’ pocket
I got the red, white, and blues, cause I got to pay my dues
To the Land of the Free, so they call it
I say, Help me through this mess
And they say, Kiss my IRS
And they left me here with the red white and blues
They demand I supply, but my deficit is high
And I don’t know how I’m ever gonna make it
While I watch my taxes soar, they say, Son you owe us more!
And if you don’t hand it over we’ll just take it
Got the red, white, and blues, cause I got to pay my dues
To the Land of the Free, so they call it
I say, Help me through this mess
And they say, Kiss my IRS
And they left me here with the red white and blues
(yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
You see friends, Uncle Sam needs your money!
We got to support the CIA, the FBI,
And all of our associates at the BCCI!
Clark, he didn’t know anything-he didn’t know ANYthing!
We gotta fund some studies on UFOs,
We gotta help out all those poor S and Ls,
We gotta have a meeting with eating…so
We can’t give you a break, now can we, son? So,
I tell ya what we’re gonna do:
We’re gonna take your house,
We’re gonna take your car,
We’re gonna take your wife,
And we’re gonna take your guitar,
And if you got any dreams we’re gonna take them, too!
Heh heh heh heh—have a nice day!
I’ve got the red, white, and blues, cause I got to pay my dues
To the Land of the Free, so they call it
I say, Help me through this mess
And they say, K-k-k-kiss my IRS
And they left me here with the red white and blues
Come right this way.
Welcome to my office.
I do a lot of damage from this 12-by-12 cubicle! (laugh) You’ll see! Yeah!
You know, I mean,
Let me take a couple of examples here of great Americans who’ve contributed to our culture.
We like to treat ‘em the way we like to treat ‘em!
For instance, Redd Foxx,
Well he’s dead, but he had some gold chains on when he was buried,
You know, we know how to get in there and get those chains!
And, well, ol’ Willie Nelson!
Everybody loves him and well,
He was manipulated by a couple of big name accounting firms,
But that’s not gonna stop us from taking everything he’s got, is it? NO!
I’m gonna get you, Willie! Heh heh heh heh.
And now, well lemme see, ol’ –uh- Sammy Davis, Jr! Everybody loved him,
Well we’ll just chase his wife til she dies and take everything she has, too!
Because that’s the way we work!
We’re the IRS! We are the United States Government!
We spend our money the way it should be spent.
You see, for example, in California,
All these auto plants are moving down to Mexico,
Because the labor rates are cheaper.
We provide tax incentives for them to do that,
And then we just blame the unemployment on the Japanese! (laugh!)
Ding-dong!
Hi, I’m John, this is my wife, Cindy.
We’re IRS agents, we live next door to you now.
3. CAN'T PLAY THE BLUES (In an Air-Conditioned Room)
All my life I had to struggle, I paid some heavy dues
Squeekin' out a livin', playin' easy blues
Then one day my music made me a millionaire
I bought a big old mansion with central heated air
Now I got more money than I know how to use
Got everything a man could want, but I ain't got no blues
Success for me could only lead to my immediate doom
'Cause I can't play the blues in an airconditioned room
Now I was doin' better with a smaller piece of pie
But all my fame and fortune I can't identify
I lost the inspiration that came natural in the start
I have to hire a mean old woman, just to break my heart
Now my life's too easy, I think I'm getting soft
I used to play the blues all day, but now I just play golf
Now all my pain is rearranged, my life has changed it's tune
'Cause I can't play the blues in an airconditioned room
You know what I'm saying, man
It's kinda hard to play the blues
if you ain't got no problems
Yeah
Play the blues for me now, man
Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about
You might think I'm crazy, you might think I'm strange
The first thing in the morning I'm gonna make a change
I throw away my money, I move back to that shack
Do whatever I gotta do to get that uh... feelin' back
I know I'd be feelin' better with nothing left to lose
When times are bad, the less I had, the better I played the blues
I buy myself some turkey and wine, and howl up at the moon
'Cause I can't play the blues in an airconditioned room
If I should die tomorrow you can write it on my tomb
'He couldn't play the blues in an airconditioned room'
See what I'm sayin'
Uh...Say man, you got change for a thousand dollar bill?
You know what I'm sayin, I wanna get me a bottle of wine
Some of that 'Chateu Creole'
D'you mean 'that ain't no wine'?
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, OK, 'Dom Perignon'
Hey man!
Can I get a shoe-shine over here?
All I got is a hundred, yeah
4. EARLY IN THE MORNING
It's early in the morning and i can't get right
'Cause i had a little date with my baby last night
Now it's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
And i ain't got nothin' but the blues
I went to all the places where we used to go
I went to her house but she don't live there no more
And it's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
And i ain't got nothin' but the blues
I went to her girlfriend´s house, but she was out
I knocked on her door and her mother started to shout
"get away from here!"
Too early in the morning
It's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
And i ain't got nothin' but the blues
Went to jenny lou's to get something to eat
The waitress looked at me, she said, "b., you sure look beat"
It's early in the morning, baby
Early in the morning
It's early in the morning
And i ain't got nothin' but the blues
Had a lot of money when i first started out
I couldn't find my baby, now my money's run out
Now it's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
It's early in the morning
And i ain't got nothin' but the blues
It's early in the morning
I ain't got nothin' but the blues
5. ONE TRACK TRAIN
I’m on a one track train, to my baby
I’m on a one track train, runnin home
I’ve finally come to know what I got
And I won’t be makin’ no whistled stops
On this one track train, one track train
I used to be the kinda man who was always jumpin track
Now I’m headed in the right direction
and there ain’t no turning back
No turning back
On this one track train to my baby
On this one track train, runnin home
I’ve finally come to know what I got
And I won’t be makin’ no whistled stops
On this one track train , one track train (Whoo!)
I’ve been away from that woman so long
I’m building up a full head of steam
Now that I got my wheels in motion
I’m gonna keep makin those engines scream (this line?)
On this one track train to my baby
On this one track train, runnin home
(One track train) (whoo!)
I’ve been away from that woman so long
I’m building up a full head of steam
Now that I got my wheels in motion
I’m gonna keep makin those engines scream (this line?)
On this one track train , one track train (Whoo!) (ooh-ooh)
I said, a one track train, to my baby (ah, yeah, play it now)
On this one track train, rollin’ home (ow ow ow ow ow)
One track train, to my baby (owwwwwoooo)
6. BOOGIE THING
For miles around you can hear the drums,
With hollowed logs and old tom-toms.
Right from the jungle so loud and plain,
Let's get aboard the boogie train.
It's a Boogie Thing,
It's a Boogie Thing.
It's a Boogie Thing,
Boogie all night long
(All night long)
Went to a dance the other night,
The Boogie Band was out of sight.
The music was funky,
And the band was tight.
So we Boogie, Boogie, Boogie,
Till the fall of daylight
*Correction needed
It's a Boogie Thing,
It's a Boogie Thing.
It's a Boogie Thing,
Boogie all night long
(All night long)
I'm moving and a-grooving with the Blues Brothers Band,
The hottest thing in all the land.
We got Steve Cropper,
We got Duck Dunn,
Come on baby lets have some fun.
It's a Boogie Thing,
It's a Boogie Thing.
It's a Boogie Thing,
Boogie all night long
(All night long)

7. NEVER FOUND A GIRL
Ain't no love, ain't no love, like my baby's love.
It's like burnin' fire, set off in my bones.
Ain't no lonely days, ain't no lonely nights.
Every little thing that she does,
You know the girl's alright.
'Cause I ain't never, never, found me a girl,
Love me like you do, to love me like you do.
Ain't no man, ain't no man, got a little woman like me
You got all the lovin' baby, what a sweet girl can claim.
You're every poor boys dream, you're every poor boys dream,
More than you're every rich man's friend.
Woah but I'm gonna give you all my money honey,
If you'll stay right there,
'Cause I ain't never, never, found me a girl,
Love me like you do, to love me like you do.
'Cause I ain't never, never, found me a girl,
Love me like you do, to love me like you do.
'Cause I ain't never, never, found me a girl,
Love me like you do, to love me like you do.
8. TRICK BAG
12 o’clock at night, you walk out the door
And you told me baby, you were goin to the drug store
Well, in my mind I just knew you were lyin’
The drug store closed at a quarter til 9
And I said I saw you kissin’ Willie across the fence
Heard you tellin’ Willie I ain’t got no sense
The way you been actin’ is such a drag
You gonna put me in a Trick Bag
When I come home, you start an argument
Just to keep me from askin where my (voodoo?) went
I kick out the front door, Oh, I hear the back door slam
I look outa my window, somebody’s takin’ it on the lam
You know I saw you kissin’ Willie across the fence
Heard you tellin’ Willie I ain’t got no sense
The way you been actin’ is such a drag
You gonna put me in a Trick Bag
We had a fight, baby, Oh and you got mad
You got on the telephone and called your mom and dad
(Your dad said)
Yeah, now brother she’s my daughter, and I’m her paw
But, you ain’t nothin’ but a son-in-law
You know I saw you kissin’ Willie across the fence
Heard you tellin’ Willie I ain’t got no sense
The way you been actin’ is such a drag
You gonna put me in a Trick Bag
Hey-ey-ey-yeah (3x)
Ohh—yeah, yeah.
I can’t take no more of this stuff.
You been messin’ and foolin’ around here.
And everytime I bust you, you wanna call your mama and your daddy.
But, they can’t help you this time baby!
No, no I ain’t gonna hit you—I ain’t gonna hurt you.
I’m just gonna leave, you know what I’m sayin’?
Cause I’m tired of all this messin and foolin around.
I just can’t take it no more. You know? Huh?
I’m just gonna pack my bags and go, girl! That’s right!
I done had enough.
You know you messin’ around with Jamie, and Willie,
And Earl, and Johnny…I might’ve known you hustlin’.
You prolly messin around with Cropper, and he’s my best friend!
You know? Baby, look—look: Don’t even try to talk to me! And I don’t wanna make love to you.
9. TAKE YOU AND SHOW YOU
When I called your number and you didn’t know my name
But you had no trouble believing my story just the same
Sat, I watched, I waited, but before I could throw my pitch
You said not to bother calling if you’re not young, tall, and rich
I’m gonna take you and show you (take you)
Where your name first caught my eye
I’m gonna take you and show you (take you)
Where your number’s advertised
I’m gonna take you and show you your name starin’ from the bathroom wall
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Well, you look me over said that maybe I would do
You forgot my hair cut, white pants,
The (golden spreaded shoes) (this line??)
So, I dressed to suit ya, but you look down your nose at me
Well I guess you’re just a princess from your head down to your feet

Where your name first caught my eye
I’m gonna take you and show you (take you)
Where your number’s advertised
I’m gonna take you and show you your name starin’ from the bathroom wall
Well, you try to change me say I’m never up to snuff
Say you couldn’t get me away from your mama fast enough
Well, your friends are wonderin’ where you got someone like me
But you see upon that wall have your high society (this line?)
I’m gonna take you and show you (take you)
Where your name first caught my eye
I’m gonna take you and show you (take you)
Where your number’s advertised
Take you and show you your name starin’ from the bathroom wall
Take you and show you your name

10. BIG BIRD
Open up the sky
Cause I'm coming up to you
So send down your wings
And let `em bring me to you
You know I'm standing at the station, ready to go
Oh, big `ol aeroplane, I'm trusting you so
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird,
Cause I got to make it,
Just get on up
Cause I got to make it,
Get on up
With me down here
And you up there
Now all we know is
It ain't no fair
`Cause I got love packed in my baggage
Holdin' my claim check,
Gonna be with my baby
And never comin' back
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird,
Up
Up
Just get on up
Open up the sky
Cause I'm coming up to you
So send down your wings
And let `em bring me to you
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird, to my baby's love
Get on up big bird,
Cause I got to make it,
Just get on up
Cause I got to make it,
Get on up
Get on up big bird,
Get on up big bird,
Get on up big bird,
Get on up big bird
