Biography : We Are The Storm
In early 2010, they recorded a live session video for the song "I Woke Up To The Bells", which was widely appreciated and took them playing at different Swedish festivals, from Talvatisfestivalen in Jokkmokk to Popadelica in Jönköping.
In 2011, after some three weeks' work in the studio with Elof Loelv (Nikki and the Dove, Rihanna), they released "To The North-Pole" on A West Side Fabrication, former home to acts such as The Bear Quartet, Fireside, and Mattias Alkberg. It was well received in Swedish press, which praised its grand vision and its nerve.
After some touring, a change of band members, and a laborious summer in the studio with Kristofer Jönson (Jeniferever, I Break Horses), "Wastelands" was released in 2013 on Kvalität. It was mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, MF/MB, Last Days Of April). Compared to "To The North-Pole", it was a much more experimental album with songs ranging from post-punk to noisy '70s ballads. Even though Swedish mainstream media didn’t catch on, it was very well received all over the blogosphere. The album was followed by a European tour in Poland, Germany and The Czech Republic.
On April 10, 2015, We are the Storm released "Night". Recorded by Olle Bilius (Jeniferever) and mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg. It is an EP that takes a step toward refining the shoegaze and goth influences that have always been present in the band’s songwriting. One of the most influential Swedish music blogs, Festivalrykten, called "Disappear / Appear", the first single from the EP, the best Swedish indie rock of the year.
